Kia ora !
Today, a relatively short article about my second time in Taranaki. You remember, I went there when I arrived to set up an experiment in New Plymouth, the city at the foot of the mountain. Well this time, we went back to start gathering the data. The week was short and we visited the sites again, but I could also continue discovering the area ! We went for a night walk along the shore (on the so called 'coastal walkway'), and it was great ! The sun was setting on the city and the sky was filled by stars ! The moon was also there and was shining on the ocean, drawing the mångatan on the surface of the water, as Swedes would say ;)
On the second to last day, we had plenty of free time so we went to the volcano and this time, we climbed it until 1600m ! It was a long and medium to hard walk, but the view was astonishingly beautiful ! We could see so far away, and the weather was just perfect for that. I wish we had time to go higher :-)
